Throughout Howell McCaskill's career, Hal was a home builder, a businessman and a woodworker who loved to handcraft anything from furniture to musical instruments. His greatest passion was painting. He was a well-respected self-taught watercolor artist who loved capturing the Texas Gulf Coast. He has won numerous awards for his watercolor paintings. Hal passed away on November 18th, 2022 at 96 years old. In Hal's honor, his family requested The Texas Violin Shop to help restore the violins he made and help find them a home to continue making music for many more years to come.
